This dark romantic set was inspired by religious themes, as well as the gothic/emo culture of the early 2000’s. The swords represent protection and the hearts signify love. Roses are for beauty and are a common offering to La Virgen de Guadalupe in Mexican culture. These designs also remind me of intricately framed church motifs, but also based off song lyrics from my favorite band since I was a teenager.

A little about our artist, Karina:

Karina Hernandez is an LA born and raised artist like none other. From her background in music and painting, she found her way into the nail industry where she honed her talent for crafting and eye for art and color, to create beautiful and precise works of art.

She prides herself in being gentle handed and providing a customized service for each client. Whether free-styling for hours or meticulously creating specific designs, her nail customers often fall asleep in her chair, trusting her artistic process and gentle touch.

Easy to Apply

Our faux nails and polishes should be stored in a well-ventilated place, away from all sources of light. Keep at temperatures between 5 - 25 °C or 40 - 80 °F. Keep faux nails away from open flames. During pregnancy, it is recommended that polish and nail care products are applied in a well-ventilated area.
Our hand-designed and made-to-order nails are typically designed and shipped within 10 business days of purchase. However, our nails are completed on a first come, first serve basis and may take longer. If there are unexpected delays, we will communicate with you via email. Please allow up to 21 business days for processing and shipping. Orders can be cancelled and refunded within 24 hours of purchase. After 24 hours, no refunds will be provided. Custom orders CANNOT be returned under any circumstances. If you are not pleased with your order, please notify us of your concerns at admin@bornnoir.com for possible store credit.

Born Noir's first artist for the Artist Series Launch, Karina is a talented, passionate and experienced nail tech based in Los Angeles.

When she was introduced to Born Noir she believed in the mission and vision for the company and without hesitation poured her heart and soul into collaborating to create something beautiful and impactful, culminating in the Mea Culpa limited series faux nails.
